SoftBank is developing an AI data center on acquired former Sharp LCD factory property in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture. It is intended for internal AI development and external computing services. Current operator targets specify FY2027 operations. Historical receiving-power plans and the newer 140 MW computing-infrastructure estimate have different scopes and must not be added. KDDI's Osaka Sakai Data Center is a separate project.
